| Activity Description | A comprehensive and exciting 2 day tour experience, the Petra 2-day Tour from Eilat is an in-depth way to explore the “lost city” of Petra. A fascinating UNESCO World Heritage site, Petra dates back some 2,000 years and offers an exciting glimpse into the past. This tour travels from Eilat and heads north towards Petra. Upon entrance to the site, walk into the historic park and spend the day with a knowledgeable English speaking guide, exploring the many sites including the Siq, Calligraphy, Obelisk Tomb, Treasury, Jabal Madbach (the sacred palace), Roman Theater, and Mountaintop Tombs, and learning the diverse history of the region. Spend the night in Petra and enjoy a second day in Petra to explore at your own pace and enjoy free time. This allows plenty of time to hike to the monastery and take in the profound beauty and magic of Petra. At the end of day 2, head south towards Wadi Rum and arrive in Aqaba, to cross the border back into Israel. This 2-day itinerary is one of the best ways to maximize time and see all that Petra has to offer. |
