The Royal Cars Museum is located near Al Hussein Public Gardens. The museum was established in 2003 at the request of King Abdullah. It displays a rare collection of Jordanian cars that were used by the royal family, including the cars of King Hussein bin Ali that came to Amman in 1916. The museum also contains the probe used in the filming of the Hollywood movie; The Martian, which used the World Heritage site Wadi Rum as a front for the film's scenes. The vehicle was donated to Jordan in exchange for the hospitality received by the film crew.
